Jiří Valoch

The artist, poet, theorist and curator Jiří Valoch is one of the most important figures to emerge from the Czech post-war avant-garde, but he did not limit his typographic experiments to the Soviet margins.

Valoch played an equally significant role in the shaping of Concrete Poetry in Britain, to which this collection of two homages, dedicated to Signals artists Frank Malina and Jesús Rafael Soto testifies. These featured works are part of a collection of typestracts and manuscripts 1964-8.
